Video: Aztec Grass

Some plants always look like they are sick, dying or at death’s door, even with they are perfectly healthy. Plants like Aztec Grass, Liriope, Flowering Ginger, Cast Iron Plant (Aspidistra elatior) usually have a few yellow and wilting leaves and some leaves with dry patches, edges and tips.

The secret to keeping these plants looking good is clipping the brown parts off, leaving the plant looking healthy and green.

Remove dry, wilted or yellow leaves at the base of the stem with garden clippers or kitchen shears. For partially dry leaves, trim leaves at an angle to maintain the  appearance of the spear shape and pointy tip of the leaves. Here’s a video showing you how to do that.
